Apple on Tuesday announced the year’s top performing Apple Music songs and albums, along with corresponding lists generated from proprietary Apple services like Shazam.

Revealed in a series of “Top 100” charts added to Apple Music’s Browse page, the top song of 2020 was Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” with more than 455 million streams worldwide. Apple highlighted the accomplishment in its second annual Apple Music Awards in November.

“Blinding Lights” by the Weeknd and “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I came in second and third, respectively. DaBaby’s “ROCKSTAR,” which features Ricch, landed in fourth and “Life is Good” by Future rounded out the top five.

Ricch’s “Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial” was the most-streamed album of the year, followed by Lil Baby’s “My Turn,” Pop Smoke’s “Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon” and Lil Uzi Vert’s “LUV vs. World 2.” Summer Walker’s “Over It” came in fifth.

“Dance Monkey” topped a new-for-2020 list of the “most Shazamed songs” with 24.6 million Shazams worldwide.

Another new chart, “most-read lyrics,” details user engagement with Apple Music’s live lyrics feature. Cardi B’s “WAP” topped the list this year with users spending 372,000 hours reading the song’s lyrics.

Apple’s Top 100s include charts from 48 countries and are available to stream in Apple Music now.
