Sony has announced that Warner Media’s HBO Max is now available for the PlayStation 5.
You Can Watch HBO Max on the PlayStation 5
The PS5 launched on November 12th, 2020, with streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV+.
HBO Max was the last big streaming service missing from that list. Now, as of December 16th, the app is available for Sony’s latest games console.
The news was announced by the official PlayStation Twitter account.
HBO Max has already been available for the PS4, so it was expected that it would come over to the PS5 sooner rather than later.
Providing you have a TV that supports it, HBO Max will stream in 4K HDR. Currently, the only title confirmed to offer that is Wonder Woman 1984, which releases on HBO Max on Christmas Day, though more are expected in the new year.
To download the HBO Max app, navigate to the Media tab of the PS5’s home screen and scroll to the All Apps section. If you don’t see HBO Max available, restart your console.
HBO Max also recently became available for Roku, nearly seven months after the streaming service launched. It’s clear that Warner Media want as many people as possible to sign up, especially since all of Warner Bros.’ 2021 movies will be landing on HBO Max the same day as theaters in the US.
